Emotions are very complex entities that we all try to define, and sometimes hide. Often, the goal is to be happy. If you’re not happy and confident, you fake it ‘til you make it. As soon as you walk out the door, you put on a different face and you go on to meet the day.
Clearly, there’s nothing wrong with being happy. But, it’s important to know that there’s nothing wrong with being anything else. If we practice hiding emotions too often, we neglect to embrace them. Happiness can become so one-dimensional. Solely experiencing happiness is impossible. It’s much more dynamic than that, we’re much more dynamic than that, art is much more dynamic that.
Instead of hiding behind a “mask of happiness,” we could all gain more from sharing everything else that lies beneath. The combination of all the emotions we have, especially the ones we feel we can’t determine or define translate the best into creativity.
