Do ideas just pop into your mind sometimes that won’t go away? Where do they come from and why do those particular thoughts have staying power?
Like many people, it happens to me all of the time. I think it’s about timing and an intersection of other things going on in your mind and in your life. It’s also about being open to the inspiration that’s all around us.
For example, next time you have a problem or issue that you are struggling with, just hand it over to your brain and give yourself a break. The next day, hour or week a fantastic solution may just pop into your head, seemingly out of nowhere. I think what is happening is that by not focusing on the problem you are allowing your mind to consider many more options and be much more creative.
This is what happened to me when I was contemplating my next personal project, which ended up as the cover for this issue. I saw someone wearing the shirt “Sometimes I flash people,” and immediately this composite jumped into my mind. I don’t know why, but I could see it clear as day.
As a side note – isn’t it odd we can think about how we think with the brain that we are thinking with? Be careful contemplating that one, you might short circuit yourself. Blue or red pill Neo?
