Tracy Gowler: RETREAT
Tracy Gowler
Retreat is an interesting word because it can be either a noun – meaning a place of privacy or safety, or a verb, being an act of withdrawing, specifically from something difficult, uncomfortable, or dangerous.
Either way, it is a word that takes us to a better place. It allows us to realize our current situation and take ourselves from a place of discomfort to one that is safer and much more conducive to our state of well-being.
It allows us to improve our situation at any moment in time with just a realization and a withdrawal or modifying our current space to that place that allows us peace to regroup.
I think it is a very powerful word in terms of personal health and a great choice for the theme.

My name is Tracy Gowler. I was the poster child for an unhealthy lifestyle and I was very good at it. It eventually resulted in severe fatigue, weakness, brain fog, joint aches, and many other big and little health issues. It was absolutely impacting my ability to spend quality time with the people that I care about. Work was becoming overwhelming and the symptoms I was experiencing were beginning to pile up. I was at a loss as to how to respond. Doctors weren't helping and the information on the internet was so contradictory that I was completely lost. I was fortunate to find a doctor that specialized in Functional Medicine and was eventually diagnosed with Hashimotos Thyroiditis.
As I discovered, there are times when significant change is required despite the road blocks. Out of that change was born Your Health Made Simple. I am not a doctor, but I do hold a certification inFunctional Diagnostic Nutrition®. The approach of an FDN practitioner is to work with the client to determine the hidden stressors in the body, areas of opportunity for improvement and to approach the coaching up of health in a non-specific way.
